Mark Airey

Mark is a dedicated Account Manager within the Banner NHS Healthcare team. Mark has worked in his current role for the past seven years but has also accrued 19 years’ worth of invaluable experience across various roles within Banner. This includes roles across both the Private and Public sectors, where he has managed an array of key accounts and Frameworks.

Mark’s current role within the Healthcare Team involves managing NHS accounts in the North of England, ICB’s, ICS’s and The Hospice Quality Partnership Framework.

Outside of work, Mark volunteers at his local grassroots football club, Swinton FC, where he has been a Trustee and Club Treasurer for the last 14 years. In this time, Mark has helped develop the club into one of only 30 Charter Standard Community Clubs within Manchester FA. The club has over 22 teams with ages ranging from 4 to 49.

Mark actively manages the finances, administration, and an array of other activities at the club: “My favourite job is cutting the grass on Fergie our red Kubota Mover; it functions as a great way to relieve stress.”

Mark worked with the local councilors and Duncan Mathieson Community Group to save the Duncan Mathieson Playing Fields from housing developers. This has been a sports green area in Salford for 100 years. After successfully helping to save the land, it has become Swinton FC’s second home, housing eight grass pitches and a club house that needs repair.

Since securing Duncan Mathieson, Mark continues to work with local councilors for funding and support with grant applications to keep the club going. His support recently helped secure a Football Foundations Grass Pitch Funding award for the next four years, totaling £28k. This is much needed to maintain the grass pitches to an acceptable playing standard.

In late 2018, Mark received a Long Service Award for his commitment to Grassroots Football from Manchester FA, and he can’t wait to continue helping them in years to come.

Last season, Mark was appointed as treasurer and trustee for the Salford and Districts Football League (SDFL).

After nearly two decades at Banner, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to his role. With experience not only in healthcare, but also across various facets of the Banner business, his diverse background and expertise make him an invaluable asset to our fantastic Healthcare Team.
