Introducing our newest member of the Banner Healthcare Team, Andy Crabb!

Andy is the Midlands National Account Manager for Healthcare and has been with Banner since September 2023. Although new to Banner, Andy has over 10 years of experience working with the NHS and Public Sector and knows the industry well.

Meet Jules Weaver, the newest member of our Healthcare Team!

Jules is a Key Account Manager for Wales and the South and South-West of England. As well as account management, Jules also manages NHS E&I, NHS Digital and ICB Lead. Although Jules is new to the Banner Healthcare team, she has worked with the NHS for 14 years, and knows the healthcare sector well.

Introducing you to Phil Pitt, our next Healthcare Team member

Phil is the Key Account Manager for London and the South East, and has been working for the Banner NHS Division for 10 years. With a passion for music and father to 3 kids, Phil is a happy member of the team who is always loving life.

Introducing you to the next member of our close knit Healthcare Team - John Harney

John brings a wealth of market knowledge and experience from the past 20 years to the Banner Healthcare Team.  He is a true advocate of carbon reduction initiatives, a father to 8 year old football loving Jude, a blood donation hero and an absolute asset to Banner.  

Introducing you to Emma Casey, a family and community focused member of the healthcare team, who is celebrating 15 years at Banner this year!

Emma has been with Banner now for just short of 15 years. She moved from Manchester to West Yorkshire, to start within the Banner health team, before moving to manage local authorities and government in 2007. Emma has been back in the healthcare team now for four years, working predominately with NHSSC and NHS Trusts, to ensure that Banner is offering the product profile required, whilst achieving savings and supporting customers to meet their environmental targets, via compliant frameworks.

7^th-13^th February 2022 is the 15^th annual celebration of National Apprenticeship Week!!

This week, all across the country, we're celebrating the value, benefits and widespread opportunities that apprenticeships bring to employers, individuals, and the wider economy.

The theme for 2022 is ‘build the future’; which is a reflection on how apprenticeships benefit both apprentices and organisations, through development of knowledge and abilities, resulting in a talented workforce who are equipped with future-ready skills.

We’d like to shine a light on our Banner teams and colleagues who have been busy helping their communities through the unprecedented time in 2020.

Not only have they been adjusting to the new norm, but they have been going above and beyond to help family, friends and their wider communities up and down the country.

Alex Lawrence, Assistant Category Specialist, Procurement, University of Derby

At just 22, Alex Lawrence is making impressive inroads into a procurement career. He started in the accounts department at the University of Derby after he left school, before becoming a procurement apprentice. Recently he has been promoted to assistant category specialist. He has extended his knowledge and practical application of EU and UK procurement regulations by training, managing and evaluating tenders and improving his stakeholder and supplier management. He is also the subject matter expert on the University's new Oracle finance system and is part of the team that are instrumental in ongoing enhancement.

Talking to B News, Alex explains how he came to the role and what he wished he'd known as a school leaver.

"I'm pleased to say 2018 was a success for Banner as we continued to invest and develop the business to add value to our customers. This was substantiated by the achievement of strong business growth and more customers entrusted Banner to support their business supplies and needs during the last 12 months.

We moved more towards partnership-based relationships with our customers, gaining insights and a deeper understanding of their evolving needs and requirements along the way. Our customer partnerships have informed many of the investments and developments that were made during 2018 and have enabled us to set strong foundations for the future.
