Banner are pleased to have been able to support the Samaritans Wakefield branch. Banner were able to donate a variety of items including pens, toilet roll, biscuits and a range of other products thanks to Mark Normington and the NDC warehouse . 

Who are the Samaritans and what do they do? 

Samaritans is a unique charity dedicated to reducing feelings of isolation and disconnection that can lead to suicide.

Every six seconds we respond to a call for help.

Every year, we answer more than 5 million calls for help by phone, email, SMS, letter, face to face at one of our local branches and through our Welsh language service.

During 2017, more than 20,000 people volunteered their time for Samaritans:

• almost 17,000 trained listening volunteers responded to calls for help
• 2,000 volunteers supported the running of our 201 branches
• more than 1,700 people in prisons volunteered as trained Listeners providing peer support.
