Banner joins local companies to raise money for the NSPCC in a 5-a-side football tournament. 

On 10th March 2022, members from Banner's sales and marketing teams joined forces with Business Fives, a corporate charity events company, to raise money for the NSPCC through a 5-a-side football tournament at Bradford Goals, Bradford, competing against other local companies. 

As a team with rolling substitutes, Banner's All Stars played 8 games and made it all the way through to the semi-final, before unfortunately losing and being knocked out of the tournament.

Demonstrating our ongoing commitment to zero waste to landfill; Banner donated 5,280 bottles of Hand Sanitiser to Trinity Methodist Church Mission in Castleford, Yorkshire.

Since 2016, Sal’s Shoes has distributed over 2,000,000 pairs of pre-loved children’s shoes in 46 countries around the world, including within the UK, to support families who would otherwise be unable to afford them.

Helping local communities and supporting charities across the UK has been an important part of lockdown life for the Banner team.

Whilst sticking to the current government guidelines, our Banner team members have been working hard to help charities and support their local communities, as much as possible.  In this blog, we share, celebrate and congratulate them on their achievements.

Banner are delighted to be an Approved Supplier on the NEPA 2 (National Education Printer Agreement) Framework, in partnership with leading printer manufacturers Brother and Epson.

The framework provides more sustainable, cost-effect and compliant MPS (Managed Print Service) solutions and services to the Higher Education Sector.

Through this framework, Banner customers can benefit from a one-stop shop for Managed and Production Print Equipment and Services, as well as Non-Managed Print Equipment, and Production Print.

This award recognises our achievement in successfully implementing HP's Sustainable Impact Partner Programme across the company and our customer base.

The HP Sustainability programme aims to create long-lasting, positive change by protecting the planet, supporting the people and strengthening the communities where we live, work and do business. 

Sustainable cleaning solutions and protecting the natural environment remain high on the agenda for Banner, a supplier on several public sector cleaning and janitorial frameworks. 

Discussions about how to better protect the natural environment have moved higher up the public agenda in recent years, but this issue has long been on Banner’s radar.

As one of the largest distributors of workplace products, with over 350 fleet vehicles making over 18,000 deliveries per day, Banner has a responsibility to operate responsibly.

One element of operating responsibly is a commitment from Banner to continually review their highly complex supply chain, which is the most significant part of their environmental footprint and social impact.

This commitment has led to the introduction of many environmentally and ethically sourced products in recent years. In fact, Banner currently offers over 3,000 products that are 50% recycled and has introduced many products that help customers to reduce single-use plastics in the workplace.

The Facilities Supply team here at Banner, headed by Andy Whiting are delighted to announce that we are now a member of the Institute of Workplace Facilities Management (IWFM).

This is a great achievement for Banner as it is a testament to the growth in the Facilities Supplies sector. The membership brings important benefits for our customers.

2020 Carbon reduction targets

Reducing carbon emissions is pertinent for universities in 2020, because they had hoped to meet a 43% reduction target set by the Higher Education Funding Council for England in 2009.

While most universities may not be on track to achieve this, there have been successes.

The University Carbon Progress Report showed carbon emissions from UK higher education providers falling from 1.7 million tonnes to 1.6 million tonnes in the year to 2017/18.
